Remembering Her – Chapter 3

With a sigh, I get up to walk to the coffee shop, intending to warm up a little before heading back to the hospital. I’m stalling for time, but I can’t help myself.

The bell jingles as I open the door to the shop, warm air blasting in my face along with the aroma of coffee and freshly baked apple pie.

Alice smiles as I step up to the counter, though her eyes are sad as she takes in the look on my face. She reaches over the counter, covering my hand with hers as she asks quietly, “Your usual, today, Mr. Cullen?”

I nod.

“Oh, come on, Carlisle, please?” Esme cajoles, smiling like she’s already won, which she has, of course.

Rolling my eyes, I clasp her hand and lead the way into the coffee shop. Esme’s practically giddy as she orders us both an eggnog latte as well as pieces of both pumpkin pie and eggnog cheesecake.

I can’t begrudge her this, since we won’t be here for Thanksgiving, and it’s not likely we’ll be back next year, either. So, I give her the chance for one last taste of home, of her favorite treats during the holiday season.

Anything to make her smile like that some more. As much as we’re both looking forward to the move to England, I know it won’t be easy for her to be so far from her family.

Remembering Her – Chapter 2

I gaze at the young couple walking along the path on the other side of the water, holding hands. I can’t hear them, but I imagine what they’re talking about. Remembering back to when Esme and I would walk that same path.

“Carlisle,” Esme says quietly. “I know you have to go back to England soon. I was thinking… how would you feel about me joining you?”
Pulling her to a stop, I turn to face her. I’m stunned; my heart beats faster with hope and anticipation. I’d like nothing better than to spend more time with Esme, but I’ve been too afraid to ask. It seems like such an immense sacrifice for her to make, given the short amount of time we’ve known each other.

“Are you sure? I mean… I’d love for you to… I love you, Esme.”

She stands on her tip-toes and kisses me, murmuring happily against my lips, “I love you, too, Carlisle. And yes, I’m sure.”

Remembering Her – Chapter 1

A/N: The wonderful @Christag_banner put this banner up for adoption. She’d never really made anything Esme/Carlisle before, but simply had to make this after seeing the images. In turn, as soon as I saw it, Carlisle hit me over the head with their story. I couldn’t not write it, so thank you to @Christag_banner for letting me use it.

That said, the format for this is slightly different than what you’re used to from me. The chapters are very short, and the story is all done. I’ll be posting daily for the next ten days.

Summary: Life as Carlisle knows it has taken an unexpected turn. He walks down memory lane as he heads toward an inevitable decision.

Sitting on the bench overlooking the pond, I smile, despite the sadness that still overwhelms me every day. This is where we met, some fifteen years ago now. Continue reading

Wish

A/N: Happy birthday, RachelCullen77! Hope you have a fantastic day.
Thanks to SorceressCirce for beta’ing.
As ever, I do not own Twilight – it owns me.
ooOoo

As far back as I can remember, I’ve watched the stars whenever they come out from behind the constant cloud cover.

Every time, I’ve wished for pretty much the same thing: to find someone to love for my very own. Someone who won’t disappear or walk away.

Tonight’s no different. I sigh wistfully as I murmur my wish into the great beyond. Doubting I’ll ever get an answer.

I close my eyes.

“Bella? Are you in here?”

Alice’s voice has my heart racing – it always does.

I blush as I answer.

She smiles at me. “I’ve been looking for you.”

In Public, I Call Her Sister – chapter 50

Everything’s packed, the others are ready to go. They’ve allowed me a few minutes so I can take care of this one last thing before we leave Rochester forever.

Standing outside her house, I gaze into the living room. My dead heart breaks at the sight of Vera, huddled in her rocker with Henry squirming and whimpering in her lap.

She’s crying as she reads my letter. My goodbye.

The best I can give her is the belief that I could not go through with my wedding and ran away, never to return.

“I’ll love you, Vera. Always,” I whisper.

A/N: Alas, we have reached the end of Rose’s story. I’m actually quite sad to mark this as complete.

Thank you, for coming on this ride with me. I hope that reading this has given you a slightly different perspective on Rosalie.

To preempt any questions, Rose’s story from here out is canon. I’ve just given a bit of a twist to the reason behind Rose being Rose in the books.

I do not expect to revisit this story.

Thank you, once again, to Evieeden for the prompt, the banner, and the bunny, as well as beta services.

In Public, I Call Her Sister – chapter 49

Every scream, every howl of agony that escapes him as I mutilate his body sends thrills down my spine.

He begs for his life, for this to all just be a nightmare he can wake up from.

I relish telling him in detail how that will never happen. Reminding him of his promise to me, I assure him, “You will never harm another again.”

Vera’s safe. Untouched by this filth. That much, Edward had done – from the moment he’d lifted the words out of my mind, he’d said. I would forever be grateful.

I delight in Royce’s final scream.

In Public, I Call Her Sister – chapter 48

It’s time.

I’ve already disposed of the others, making sure each one of them suffered and was found quickly..
Royce is last.

I want him to know I’m coming.

To fear.

To suffer.

I grin when I see the guards. They’re no match for me and dead before I’ve even counted to five.

Royce is in the other room; I can hear him whimper. Smell the stench of fear and alcohol dripping from him.

When I crash through the locked doors, he scurries away, blubbering for mercy. Soiling himself as he takes everything in.

White dress.

Ruby red eyes.

Death.

In Public, I Call Her Sister – chapter 47

They all know what I intend to do. They’ve all made their feelings known on it.

Esme with quiet support and understanding.

Carlisle trying to talk me out of it.

Edward… just looks at me.

After Esme and Carlisle have gone hunting, I ask Edward, “Why have you not told them? I know you know… about…”

If I could still blush, I would.

Edward stares at me for a long moment. “It’s not my secret to share, Rosalie. I… understand why you’re doing this,” he waves at the dress and then continues, “I’ll not stop you. I won’t help either.”

Piano Man

A/N: Happy birthday, Melooza! Hope you have a wonderful day.
As ever, I do not own Twilight – it owns me.

The music changes the second I step through the door, welcoming me home. I smile for the first time all day. It’s been harrowing. I want nothing more than to hole up in the comfort of my man’s arms.

As if sensing my mood, the music shifts again, becoming soothing and sultry at once as I go about my rituals.

When I make it to the living room, Edward looks up, continuing to play. “Hey, baby,” he murmurs as I walk over to him.

“Hey,” I reply, resting against the piano, listening.

He finishes. Stepping up to him, I kiss him. “Thank you.”

In Public, I Call Her Sister – chapter 46

Time passes. My plan long since formed in my head. I know Edward is aware of it, though he has yet to mention anything. Every time my thoughts stray, he’ll give me a certain look that tells me everything I need to know.

He’ll not tell.

The day Carlisle informs us it’s time to move on, I make my decision.

All I need is ready. I’ve stolen a wedding dress, which I intend to use for Royce.

Edward knocks on my door. “You have to tell them.”

“Why?” I challenge.

“This concerns them, too. You’re family now.”

I watch him.
