“C’mon, Edward, you can do this… come on…”

My eyes keep flickering between the scoreboard – tied at twelve – and my boy. The last game of the season is riding on him now. Time’s up, so if he misses this kick, we’re in overtime.

I know he can do this, though. No one’s a better placekicker than my Edward.

Biting my lip, I sigh. No one knows he’s my boy, and that’s something that I aim to change after today.

The whole stadium erupts into loud cheers as the ball sails right between the posts.

Fandom Against Domestic Violence

A last minute decision, but one I’m glad I made. There is a fund-raising effort taking place right now to help the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence by the Fandom Against Domestic Violence.
Initially, I had told myself I wasn’t going to be able to contribute this time, even though I firmly believe in the cause. I just didn’t feel I had the time to do it. When Stolenxsanity heard about the fundraiser, she signed up but ended up in a time crunch (these things will happen when one only finds out about it less than a week before entries are due!), so I offered to collab with her.

We did, and we have ended up with a story that was hard to write but well worth it. I hope you’ll check out the site and consider donating to a worthy cause. There are over 100 authors that have contributed to this, so you’ll definitely receive something fantastic for helping out.

Thank you for being such a kick ass fandom. I’m proud to be a part of this.

Announcement – The Twilight No Stress Love Fest

OnTheTurningAway and I are hosting The Twilight No Stress Love Fest, starting today! We wanted to spread a little love around and thought that Valentine’s Day would be perfect. However, we didn’t want another contest, so we took a page from the HP fandom and decided on a prompted fest. To find out more, go to http://community.livejournal.com/twi_love_fest/283.html

We want everything: canon, non-canon, slash, poly, AU, AH – as long as there’s love involved. All entries must be anonymous, though, as we’re planning to let people have a little fun at the end by guessing who wrote what – or even who created what. That’s right – we don’t only want stories, but we want your art, too. Banners, drawings, manips, whatever you like. Bring it!

“God damnit. Why?”

I look up from my book at Jasper’s whine. “What’s wrong?”

He sighs, leaning back in his seat, glaring at his laptop. “Nothing,” he mutters.

Placing my hand on his shoulder, I struggle to keep a straight face. “Still no luck, huh?”

He looks at me, pouting slightly. “No. I hate having to sign up for a thousand and one sites, and I’m sure as hell not paying to be able to see something that’s free elsewhere. I know it’s out there.”

With a flick of a couple of switches, “Heaven Beside You” starts playing, and I sigh in relief. It’s been a long night, and I’m about ready to crash.
 
Not to say it’s been a bad night. This is actually one of the best I’ve had in a while. A few regular callers make everything fun.
 
Definitely worth it.

I only half-listen to him as he babbles on and on about the company and how they started. It’s all stuff that’s been mentioned before.
 
My focus instead is on the people in this small office.
 
“Yo, Mike…mail’s here.”
 
Turning, I see blond hair, blue eyes, and a killer smile, staring at me.
 
Mike takes the offered mail with a huff and says, “Emmett, let me introduce you…”
